About me
Hi there - I was born in '72 and have been drawing pretty much ever since - my mother's a sculptor so I didn't have much of a choice! Now I work from a studio in Nottingham.
Art
I work mainly with charcoal, carbon and chalk on heavy, acid-free paper, often with a wash of watercolour beneath the drawing to add body. Figure studies have been central to my work over the last 10 years, and like all art forms, I use the medium to try and tell a story (with varying degrees of success!). I've had a number of exhibitions across the UK, most recently at the Nottingham Society of Artists Gallery and I usually have work on display at MishMash gallery in Beeston. I'm available for commissioned work - anything from portraits to landscape -its a challenge I really enjoy so do contact me for more information. Limited edition Giclée prints are also available of my pen and ink work.
Illustration
I've been a graphic designer since 1999 and now run a successful design agency in Nottingham (The Big Idea). My very first commercial illustration was a series of healthy eating themed fruit and veg cartoon characters for the British Heart Foundation in 1999. Since then I've continued to produce commissions every year - across multiple formats and in dozens of different styles. I've learnt to be versatile, intuitive and to have a (keen!) sense of time-management.
